UNITED IN SAFETY

Going Beyond Safety Standards

Extreme Ownership is never more important than in the pursuit of safe work.

At UPS Industrial Services, safety isn’t just a priority – it is ingrained in everything we do. Our unwavering commitment to safety is evident through our proactive approach to identifying and eliminating potential hazards before they become risks. We empower our operations teams with the responsibility for safety performance, fostering a culture where ownership and active participation in safety programs are paramount. We firmly stand by the principle that our people will never work in the presence of an unaddressed hazard, ensuring a secure environment for everyone involved in our operations.

Safety isn’t just a policy, and we demonstrate this focus through our commitment to developing systems and behaviors that make safety a part of our corporate fabric.

SAFETY2 PROGRAM

Our Safety2 program is the foundation of the UPS Industrial Services culture, ensuring that all perceived and potential safety hazards are fully eliminated or mitigated before any work can start. The process begins with each UPS employee asking themselves two simple questions.

1 /

HOW CAN I BE INJURED?

2 /

WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

If a hazard is identified, action is immediately taken to fully mitigate the problem prior to work commencement.

USING TECHNOLOGY

Each UPS Industrial Services supervisor utilizes our custom HSE Toolbox application to examine the workspace for potential safety hazards.

As part of our Behavioral Based Safety system, hazard observations and audits can be entered, and job site risk analysis can be done immediately.

High Hazard Task Planning and Preparation

There is always a way to perform a job safely. Certain tasks take more planning and tooling than others to achieve that. At UPS Industrial Services, our employees can rely on our full company expertise to plan hazard mitigations for unconventional tasks to meet the needs of our customers.
