Job Summary:
UPS Industrial is in search of an industrial Project Manager with Union experience. This position provides overall managerial, administrative and technical expertise and support on projects. In addition, this position is responsible for project performance including safety, cost, quality, client relations and project status. The Project Manager is accountable for ensuring everyone on the team knows and executes his or her role, remains organized, feels empowered and supported in the role, knows the roles of the other team members and acts upon the belief that those roles will be performed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensuring project safety and environmental standards are adhered to.
- Mentor, coach and supervise subordinate managers and staff.
- Assist in aspects of project planning.
- Perform estimate reviews when required.
- Ensure optimum utilization of labor, material and other resources across the project.
- Manage project performance including monitoring of safety and environment, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, material, equipment maintenance, and quality.
- Review project status and incident reports with managers or executives.
- Build and maintain strong customer relations with client, sub-contractors, vendors, and internal customers.
- Assist with securing additional work and participating in proposals and presentations.
- Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews to catch deviations from a plan or schedule early and keep all participants and stakeholders informed in order to bring the job in on time and under budget.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 12 years experience of progressively responsible leadership including site management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction preferred.
- Must have proven track record in managing Turnarounds, Construction, or Maintenance projects in Heavy Industrial, Petrochemical, Refineries or Power Generation
- Union experience required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
- Adept at critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, delegating, conflict resolution, and stress tolerant.
- Must be willing to travel.
